About Internship Opportunity

IETA is recruiting for a paid full-time internship (trainee) position in its EU Affairs Office located in Brussels from February, 2026 to July, 2026. The internship is an exciting opportunity to gain professional experience, engage with the EU Institutions and work in an inspiring environment as part of a dynamic and multicultural team. The candidate will support the EU Policy Team with research, monitoring, analysis and daily functioning of the office.

Tasks will include
  • Conducting monitoring of activities of the EU Institutions and relevant stakeholders
  • Conduct research on specific climate policy topics
  • Attending and reporting on policy conferences and public meetings
  • Assisting with drafting and editing publications and briefings on EU policy developments
  • Assisting with organising conferences, events and meetings
  • Responding to enquiries
  • Helping with general administrative and organisational tasks

Requirements
  • EU nationality and/or right to work in Belgium without a work permit
  • An academic background in political science, international relations, EU law, environmental sciences or a related field
  • Knowledge of/Interest in the EU climate policy/ EU Green Deal and carbon markets
  • Sound knowledge of the EU institutions
  • Good organisational skills and accuracy
  • Fluent in English (ability to speak and write)
  • Proactivity and flexibility

We offer the internship under Convention d’Immersion Professionelle (CIP) contract.
